Avevamo già parlato in termini entusiastici di Google SketchUp, programma gratuito per progettare oggetti in 3 Dimensioni.
Oggi abbiamo rintracciato un sito dedicato alle potenzialità didattiche di questo software.
Si chiama 3DVINCI con chiaro riferimento al nostro Leonardo. Il suo scopo è avvicinare gli studenti (e anche i professori) all’uso di SketchUp.
Il sito è in inglese ed è arricchito da utilissimi video che illustrano nei dettagli come arrivare a risultati stupefacenti.
Fra i numerosi esempi ho scelto questo dell’Icosaedro, bellissimo!
Icosahedron
The golden rectangle is an essential shape in 3D geometry. Among other things, it is a building block for many of the Platonic solids. In this video, you’ll see how to create a golden rectangle, and arrange three of them in 3D space. This forms the basis for creating an icosahedron.
IThis is a fun project; when you erase the 20 triangles, you get a star-shaped surprise. And you’ll learn how to paint these solids so that no color repeats along any edge or around any point.
